ZYGOTE IN MY COFFEE.COM

***BIO*** Ross Vassilev: I was born in Bulgaria in 1976 and used to live in NYC but now I live in Ohio. I'm 6-foot-1 and overweight and balding. I pump iron and watch a lot of porn on my computer. I don't do much other than that. I never went to college cuz I'm lazy and the kind of poetry I write doesn't require much of an education anyway. My biggest influences are Bukowski, nila northSun, indie rock, and all the stuff I read on Zygote in my Coffee and My Favorite Bullet.

the good old days
by Ross Vassilev
in the early 80s
the young white men
switched from punk
to metal, which is rock
for teenage morons.

i should know. that’s
what i used to listen to.

they traded in punk
for a bunch of long-
haired phonies wearing
make-up and leotards;

Iggy Pop for guys who
looked like drag queens.

show me one of those
pussies who could cut
up his chest with glass
and keep performing
all bloody like Iggy did.

i don’t think so.

long live The Stooges.
