| Weeknights at the old hotel
it's been some years now you were too young but if we were quiet and made no trouble the mean eyed bartender she'd usually let us stay with our vodka drinks and our little table in the corner sometimes there was the piano man but often just the jukebox that we'd fill with Patsy Cline we smoked stolen cigarettes even though I could've bought them there's not much else to mention other than the blue of your eyes and the way you laughed after saying something especially cruel now the bar and the jukebox the piano and its man are long gone lost into the grey mist of everything and the memory of it just something I'd like to hold on to a little while more before they come and take it away with the rest. |
