| Resurrection of a Porcelain Doll |
| by Kristine Ong Muslim |
| She wants to keep her soiled underwear,
her cobwebbed locks, her scuffed shoes. She tries to gouge out my eyes, try them on for fun. I swat at her tiny prying hands, the ones I have yet to dip in milk. Mornings I tell her all about the other resurrected dolls. She nods, falls asleep standing up on the mantel. All my guests swear that my porcelain doll has just winked at them. |
