all my haters seem to agree
by J.J. Campbell
as the words get
harder each day
to find and make
any sense of them

i realize the chance
does exist that all
my better poems
are in my past

i take comfort
knowing that
i'm losing my
mind at a much
faster rate these
days

but that doesn't
explain much
to me

for i know if i
realize that i can't
do it anymore i'll
be picking the lock
on the gun closet
and writing my
goodbyes faster than
the rate i'm killing
these trees with
shitty words

hopefully

successfully
passing the
burden onto
someone else

for once
