| THE DUKE OF NEW YORK
is dead the first thing I thought when I heard Isaac Hayes was dead. He will always be the DUKE to me for the music that pushed John Shaft through Times Square theater lights popping for the sex machine to all the chicks. Isaac Hayes was Black Moses crucified in soul and the DUKE in Escape from New York. I should know. I played Donald Pleasance Michael Myers hunter with my broken heart President of the U.S. shot down on Air Force One over the world’s largest maximum security prison, Manhattan. The Duke has me as a hostage and he is planning the greatest prison break in history. Only Snake Plissken one-eyed stands in his way. Snake flew into the prison on a glider and landed on the highest point downtown, the Towers. |
