| Two grocery bags
filled to capacity One child crawling on the ground blacktop stained knees A second, recently hatched squirming on her hip like an agitated gibbon The keys locked inside the used Honda intentionally The father, not even an afterthought Her knight arrives armor shinning lights flashing He's cute too Hi Jack the name tag a clue as long as it's not said on a plane but considering the parking lot it's allowed Jack gets to work dirty nails, chiseled grin previously employed in insurance where he played the villain but now, everybody loves a hero True to his word He pops the door as easy as the stubborn lid on a jar of pickles He basks in her gratitude and cleavage, unruly children not with standing The performance over It's the most attention she will receive all week |
