| "So, what is it you want to do?"
she asked, as though I were wasting her office hours My 18-year old aimlessness was just diagnosed by this Doctor as acute illness! "I want to write about music." Sandy, who insisted we call her by her first name, shifted in her office chair, making it squeak "People your age," she said, "who want to do that are already doing it. They're in Philly or New York. They're not in Berks County." Then, we went through the motions of a paper proofreading session after which I staggered outside- for 8 years finally stopping in Seattle, where after punching the clock each day, I come home and write about music |
