| In a Strip Joint Parking Lot |
| by Farida Samerkhanova |
| When I saw his car in the parking lot
Of the neighbourhood strip bar, I felt like damaging his tires with a knife, Breaking the windshield with a hammer And scratching the doors with a screw driver. Instead, I went inside and bought An admission ticket to women’s lounge. I spent many hours till 2 in the morning Watching male strippers on the stage and Drinking orange juice with no ice. When I got out into the rain, In the dim light of the street lamps I saw my Toyota with its tires flat, The windshield broken And the doors fiercely scratched. |
