| ***BIO*** James Babbs still lives and dies a little each day in the same small town where he grew up. He works for the government but doesn’t like to talk about it. He likes getting drunk and writing and sometimes it’s hard to tell the difference because both of them can be very intoxicating. He doesn’t like okra and never did but he could eat lima beans every day of the week. James has recently had work in Abbey, Gutter Eloquence, Fight These Bastards, Opium Poetry, and Song of the San Joaquin Quarterly. |

| So Far So Good |
| by James Babbs |
| so I’ve been going to this bar
restaurant kind of place for the past three or four weeks talking with this one waitress in particular this young cute blonde named Brittany with this sexy little body that moves just the right way when she walks and one night after finishing my tenderloin and my curly fries in the middle of a few beers I’m feeling pretty good so I ask her if she’d like to go out with me some time but she just laughs before patting my arm gently with her hand and I wonder what the hell that’s suppose to mean I don’t go back for several nights but when I do return Brittany rushes over like she’s really happy to see me she says hey if you’re not busy on Saturday meet me here at seven o’clock and I can only manage to softly reply okay thinking she’s finally surrendered to an older man’s charms I show up on Saturday night holding these flowers I bought and Brittany comes over with another woman and says hey I’d like you to meet my Mom and her mother’s younger than me and she’s not a bad looking woman not bad at all from what I can see of her she has really nice legs and when she smiles I have to admit it does something to me inside and I start thinking maybe this could be alright for awhile and I have to tell you so far so good |
