| The Hardest Sport |

| I read in one of your magazines
that a couple like us shouldn’t keep score when one of us is right. They say we should not treat this mess like some trivial sport. That a relationship is fulfilled through understanding. But as I sit here-- listening as two dollars creep from my wallet every minute-- watch them crawl into the crinkled mouth of a counselor you picked out-- I realize why they are your magazines. You’re down by twelve with no timeouts and maybe a week remaining on our clock. Hell, the bus is already fired up and ready to take you home. |
