| watching your family grow old and grow frail and ever closer to death while hobbling around on crutches and losing weight around the face and arms and wondering where all that parental strength and presence went and then remembering that you are not a child anymore and that your father is no longer a young man but simply one more person who will not be around forever or even close to it. |
