| Would yuh use magic if yuh knew some? |
| by J. D. Nelson |
| The big kid stood
on the corner all afternoon, motionless, even as the late-summer rainstorm made its scheduled appearance promptly at 4 o'clock. The small bindles of 'snake' were burning holes in the oversized pockets of his cargo pants. They were stuffed full of hundreds of small packets of the acidic pink powder -- the 'snake' of the jungle. it was once thought to be a useless by-product of the tetra-aluminum manufacturing process, until a dock worker decided that it resembled cocaine & had himself a toot. The other dock-workers in the company barracks watched him slither around beneath the bunks -- hence the powder's nickname in the underworld. |
