| I've read Dostoyevsky
and watched him nail humans so well he must have had Jesus whispering in his ears. I saw Marquez drinking clouds and sewing dirt together he asked me if I'd care for a drink and raised a flower up in his hand to my mouth I've read Bukowski and felt the touch of that old family member nobody wanted me to talk too. I played with Salinger until he showed me he was really playing with me. I've read Neruda and realized I knew nothing about the color blue. the final hats off to Shakespeare who when read fills me with such feeling that words turn to tears and sentences to ghosts I wish I'd known but because of you I'm reeking of that literary yearn of what writing was really meant for: a song you can sink your teeth into. |
