warning against the lateness of the hour waving its metal hands of time still he is up, filling the blanks of another day too soon ending between waves of unsettled tasks lapping against the door drowning the idea of sleep his fingers reach out to hold the button that fills the air with digital colours, they soak the room with voices with sounds from places that might only exist at the other end of a stream of pictures from the far side of the city |
