Echo Of A Lonely Room
by Bradley Mason Hamlin
When the
Darkness falls
Will you hear your name
All the sinners
The liars
The wicked
And the lame
Elbow to elbow
At Lucifer’s taco wagon
It’s a shame
A dirty lowdown cheat
Can’t you feel
The impossible horn blowing
Your mind
You’ve been used
Yesterday’s meat
Satan
Laughing like a demented clown
And all you ever wanted baby
Was what I didn’t give you
And all you ever wanted
Was left behind …
And there’s a holy spirit
Out there
Waiting …
His head holding sacred crown
Somewhere above the heat
And I see you
Sitting in that ancient cantina
Wearing a tequila frown
But will you see me
Will you hear me
Will you feel my fear
When the darkness falls
And I call your name.
