| She was pretty, quiet & small
She read good books, wore glasses & had a penchant for shapeless brown dresses’ I talked to her at a party A party filled with the hip, the tragically hip & the terminally hip She was a nice antidote We talked for an hour or so Then my girlfriend (who was very drunk) dragged me out the door To another party that I didn’t want to go to For a second I considered telling her that I was happy here That I wanted to stay & finish that bottle Of Stoli Pepper Vodka Then she told me, “Ya know, Jim will be there & he still wants to do that book with you.” I thought ‘then just let him write the rest of it’ I still wanted to do more research. |
