| ***BIO*** Kathy Polenberg:You may ask yourself "how did I get here?" I confess some of my writing comes under the influence of the defunct yet deliberate traffic light at the corner of Broadway and Brighton- the one that cracked a filter trying to become a poet . . . it's in tribute to that stubborn posture that I write poems.

any place except right here not touching (mind you) but near enough to the old stuffed ones now they have wound themselves up into one big balled clog in your carotid coffee your slip-knotted noose your loose vertical razor cuts across intersecting sippycup streets and microbrew avenues and mid-sentence . . . . . . trails off because their "real kids" (the ones I dream I'm doing away with) keep crossing in between against my light makes me want to red scream |
