| I listen to Cohen with mood,
and a strange feeling unfolds like I’m going to the Laundromat empty-handed, or I’m naked somewhere in the fishy hamper of earth, and he’s telling me to wring myself out, freshen up, starch myself into a lanky banana leaf. Or maybe the AROXYMAT suddenly closes for good this year when they hear--from wind’s croon beneath midsummer flesh-- about the untimely death of a ladies man. I don’t know. But my clothes will not be the same. |
