| talking with this girl
on the telephone I tell her I'm arguing with reading novels lately. I say, I'm not responsible enough to have a novel right now. It's all poems lately. I tell her I think of reading books like dating, you spend time with one for a little while until it agitates you for whatever reason then you spend time with one of the others until the same happens. I always read several books at a time I tell her. Huh. her voice slows as she says, I can only ever read one book at a time the phone quiet quiet Hm. I guess I probably shouldn't tell you how many books I'm reading right now? Yeah, she says, probably not. |
