| The Man Who Loved "Dial-A-Poem" |
| by Paul Coman |
| every time he went through an emotional trauma,
he used to contact "Dial-A-Poem" for a random reply. he had phoned them hundreds of times and never received the same poem twice. thanks to "Dial-A-Poem", he had fallen in love three times, travelled abroad twice, and been involved in a variety of obscene sexual practices. one night, feeling blue, he rang "Dial-A-Poem" and received a piece of doggerel, which was nothing more than a thinly-veiled suicide note. later, after he threw himself from his fourth floor window, and concrete became associated with his tragedy, the police shut "Dial-A-Poem" down. so do beware of people who take advice from novice poets. they will be the death of us all. |
