God's Putrid Pizza
by David McLean
the sun is a nasty cold piece of
pizza which God forgot under his
senile sofa,

and the love that worships it is
nothing, its shitty innocence is
disingenuous

for it drags the criminal moon
after it through all its nasty daylight
deception,

and nothing has ever written
love we crave its craven
drug

that carved its leatherface loathsome
logos over us and the severed
heaven we are

not. we are that burning
thirst that pisses us and works
the appropriate appropriation;

the event that is God’s sending
to not-ness, his finitude and loveless
nothing,

for nothing shall love us then except
one another, Pope Motherfucker, a passion
is useless as we are this

dispassionate passion’s Diaspora, and an indifferent
bliss deferential to the deferral, but not pandemic
Panic

that listens today, loving us thus, but never yet
tracked eggs in my burgeoning, burning, insane
vein

whose shallow tracks
trace my changelessly
times

ploughing her furrow, whorish lord
her bowed beak, the birds eat,
pecking the seas of knowledge’s lifeless

tree in me, the traces of paternity
are an indefinable authoring actor.
man is a pigeon and god, God’s passionately

inappropriate pastor; the bird and the shit and the
tracks on the tree he is nothing and he
(one of him at least) is

me.
