task light
first one into
work, sitting
in a dark
building with
my little task
light on.  it
occurs to me
that a lot
of my life
is like this.
the pack
I have found
the best way to
relate to people
at work is to
treat them like
wild animals:
approach them
slowly, with
care; never
show any
fear or lack
of confidence;
never turn
your back on
them; let
sleeping dogs
lie; if anyone
gives you any
crap, raise
your arms up
high so as to
appear tall,
wave them
about menacingly,
and make a
loud, intimidating
noise. always
assume they are
irrational and
acting from
primitive emotions.
realize they
always seek
to gain a
competitive
advantage at
your expense.
let them know
you are the
alpha male.
