Girls Like Me
by Debbie Kirk
A girl like me Is way too pretty to be alone on a Friday night. Broken streetlights and straight razor trains Grocery stores full of pets On ramps That don’t go off… A girl like me Once slept with every loser In that punk house. A girl like me Once OD’d at this party somewhere in the desert. They brought her back to life twice, And even with all that heat We couldn’t sweat out The memory of her face Turning blue. A girl like me Should be with some nice man. Ice cream and cats are for old maids I’ve had some nice men, But not any of them had enough enthusiasm yet For the maids outfit… A girl like me once got tied up in dime store ties And punished rather harshly. Girls like me shouldn’t have tattoos and know how to play dirty poker I wouldn’t hang around A girl like me.
***BIO*** Debbie Kirk is a 30 year old writer who isn't from anywhere and lives in the sewers. She writes stuff...and it must be O.K. because it has aquired her some stalkers. She dosen't want to grow up to be anything. She passed out last weekend in her friend Kristi's tub after a night of drinking. The last thing she said was: "I'm not going out like Bon Scott man, not yet." **LINK** to Debbie's website: www.pinkanarchkittypress.com
