| Black Ghost Apple Man |

| if & when & do I believe in trees or streams ha! not now, not since the wax dripped from the sky & scarred my eyes, not since last February, when my heart was cut out & left to freeze in the snow -- not since my teeth were auctioned off to pay for beer, for liquor. I'm only half a being, an insect w/ a piece of coal for a brain & no soul to speak of. trees & streams? try something else -- I can't stay in this hotel any more. I breathe gasoline fumes & write these words on scraps of skin I find in the trash bins on the main road, down by the gardens where I once counted 16 ladybugs in one session. I haven't been down that way since my ears were returned. one last note to the beasts: I'm keeping the ropes & you won't be able to find me because I'm changing my name to Black Ghost Apple Man. |
