| the plates have been cleared
check delivered by a waitress bubbling for a good tip like in a film when a camera closes in on a couple in a crowd oblivious to those around them: she rises to go and beside the table he stands knowing the opposite directions they travel their bodies briefly meet— a warm moment in time softly punctuates an early lunch |
