| ***BIO*** Andrew Walton: I am a professional musician (drums/percussion) as well as an aspiring writer. Musically, I have won a number of awards (including Outstanding Performance, Drums, at the 1992 Notre Dame Collegiate Jazz Festival). I am currently a freelance percussionist as well as the drummer for a heavier/darker project called “Creepjoint” (www.Creepjoint.com). As an artist, poetry represents nothing so much to me as a shimmering reflection of the soul--both in joy and in anguish--through the infinite beauty of language. |

Locked away and hiding. Rotted after a lifetime of pouring sewage upon others, I tell you: they are in hospitals in nursing homes in lonely old houses somewhere in New Hampshire rooms which are thick with the sour bile of History-- theirs, what they know, and what we don’t. dark and Protected. b. but maybe when it is nigh a moment of real wisdom And shouting clarity Should pour over every last acre Of our time Maybe— Maybe, even for them, a sudden Chord will be struck, An intrusion…a knowing. A whisper: “now you will see hell through the brimstone lens of your regret.” while they lay, frail. Wretched. Having already made certain That there will be MORE TO COME where they came from. |
