| slumbering but so alive
with your old headphones blaring the quiet vibrance of dated songs cries from the next apartment room; a spiralling hurricane developing with the face of moses slowly forming in each new billow could not have awakened you. fingers crawling with nicotine the bleached red hair that gave the cheap hotel sheets a tremblingly lifelike hue. i traced the smooth minutes on the insides of my palm the brewing storm seemed aligned with the convulsive spasms of your uneasy dreams. each hesitant bolt had you flipping over. sitting in that old chair with the rain painting the window a blue Picasso, watching your blanketed face. awakening, you'd be unpleasant looking for the aderol i dumped knocking your empty bottles all over with nerve tendril rage. but i didn't care i went outside and had a cigarette thanking the dismal morning for the swirling clouds and the dropping hours when i could simply rest and watch you sleep. |
