| Once again Richard
you have inspired me to write. I find peace in your sorrow. I think you are weeping with me. I think you are singing about my life. Your words hanging my soul like a damp blanket, on the clothes line in the rain. You sit under the line in my rainy backyard plucking your guitar. A private concert of sorrow. Your tears hidden by the rain. The rain is the best place to be in these situations. I’d take a picture, but it might break your fragile heart. You might get up and leave. You would stomp through puddles in the backyard, strangling your guitar by its neck as you marched. Your head looking down as you sloshed toward your old, old, blue Toyota pickup. The one I saw parked in the no parking zone in front of Schuba’s in Chicago. The one my brother-in-law saw parked in front of a club in Minneapolis... Keep trucking Richard - Chase Townes. |
