Drowsy Boy
by Damion Hamilton
I have a hard time getting
Going, I知 such a drowsy boy

Other people, it seems are alert
Too alert, and in the moment
And I知 just a drowsy boy

The days go by so fast
Whether I知 doing nothing
Or working

This drowsy boy has a hard
Time getting to work on time,
This boy has a hard time being anywhere

So slow, this boy dwells on things

A pen
A lovely bosom
Sparrows attacking a hamburger
Wrapper

So many things to dwell on

In rooms of crowded people
I have a hard time following conversations

I知 just a drowsy boy
I can sit on a couch for hours
Staring at things of no consequence

I知 often wondered why was no good in
Sports in school, say when
A ball was hit or thrown, I would
Often be looking somewhere else or thinking
About something else

Or while sitting in class listening
To the teacher reading, my mind
Often wondered

I watch Fridays and Saturdays fade
Away by not doing anything

I often think of doing things,
But I often run out of time
Libraries close early, the post office close
Early and drug stores, trains stop running
After a certain time

This drowsy boy need to catch up
With everyone else
This boy needs more time
To do things

Hopefully someday
He値l be quick and alert
