the passion of apple pie untouched while the vanilla melts a girl with bright red lips sitting on a barstool revealing high thigh and the devil’s highway my head spinning whiskey mantras and all the other whacked images that modern poetry suffers from suicidal thoughts I’d never act upon wouldn’t want to miss the next episode of some show I’ll forget come summer and madness poets like to talk about insanity romancing the pain and suffering of mental illness and drunk drunken drunkenness or childish dreams of the junky shock value from a shell-shocked world Christ- jumped off the cross did a secret Watusi and we were all too stupid too selfish to ever understand those cool moves. |
