| ***BIO*** Daniel S. Irwin Still an impoverished artist/writer (and I laughed when they said, "Dan, major in accounting!"). Still the medic in a maximum secuity prison dealing with the criminally insane (my co-workers). Published in over 100 zines and journals throughout the world...and my last royalty check for my epic collection of poetry (Observations Short of Reason...PublishAmerica..."Somebody buy the damn thing! It's actually entertaining.) was a whopping $1.62. Thank Satan that I hit it big in the lottery. I've already spent one of the three dollars. |

| I Went To Prison |
| by Daniel S. Irwin |
| I went to prison today.
'Go there most every day. 'Work there from three to eleven. Just another medic in the, So called, Health Care Unit. I go in the cell houses and The cons say, "How ya doin', Dan?" Some call me 'Mister Irwin' But that was my dad. I usually reply, "Terrible. Could be better, could be worse." "Yeah," they say, "It could always be worse." We all readily identify with that. Some inmates got a different Outlook on 'caring' for their Fellow man, or woman. Like my man what blew the back Of this woman's head off 'cause He couldn't stand to see her suffer After he had shot her in the face. Is that a tender heart or what? Proof positive, chivalry is not dead. |
