| Tender is the Life |

| I’ve never gone
more than a day without eating. I’ve never had bombs ruin my night. And work, I don’t know the smell of work. I don’t know the feel of work, my hands have never bleed from too much work. But I don’t know, I don’t know what it is. I don’t know what it is that makes me grind my teeth at night even though my sheets are clean and there is a solid roof over my head. I don’t know what it is. I don’t know what it is that makes me complain, that makes you complain about the price of milk when there is enough change in my pocket, enough in your pocket, to buy, to buy that bottle of milk. I don’t know what it is. I don’t know what it is That makes me think my life is so hard when the hardest thing I ever have to do is brush my teeth and put the kids to sleep. |
